Trouble signing in

  1. To sign in, select Sign in at the top right of any page. The sign-in window opens over the page you’re on.
  2. If your email or password isn’t accepted, try your other addresses. Invited by a tutor or a school? Use the address the invitation went to.
  3. Made your account with Google? Use the Google button. It finds your account by its email address, so pick the Google account with that same address.
  4. Forgotten your password? Select Forgot password, just under the password box, to open the reset page.
  5. Enter the address you signed up with, and we’ll email you a link to choose a new password. The link works for one hour.
  6. Nothing after a few minutes? Check your spam folder. No setting in your account switches these emails off.
  7. The link opens this page. Choose a password of at least eight characters, and you’ll be signed out on every other device, for safety.

Audio will not play

  1. Every line in a lesson’s dialogue has a play button. Select one, and the ring beside it fills once the line has played through.
  2. If a button seems to do nothing, click anywhere on the page first, then press play again. Browsers block sound until you do.
  3. Next, check your device and browser, outside this page: the volume, an iPhone’s silent switch, a muted tab, and Bluetooth headphones.
  4. If it worked earlier and has stopped, reload the page. A recording that failed to load is skipped until you do.
  5. The Sound effects switch in your account doesn’t affect lesson audio. It only covers clicks, and the cues for answers, streaks and XP.
  6. Playing lesson audio never uses your AI credits, so an empty balance is never the reason a lesson goes quiet.
  7. Still nothing? Try another browser or device. If it plays there, the first browser’s settings are the place to look.

Progress did not save

  1. First, are you signed in? Here the top right says Sign in, and the red bar invites you to start learning: you’re signed out.
  2. You can still read this free lesson signed out, and its sections still tick off, like Understanding here, with XP too.
  3. But signed out, it stays in this browser only. As the bar at the bottom says, your progress is kept once you have an account.
  4. Signed in, your account appears at the top right instead, and the red bar holds your own dashboard: Daily, Stats, Calendar and Guide.
  5. Now each section you finish is saved to your account straight away. Here’s Understanding again, ticked off in the contents bar.
  6. Open the same lesson in another browser, signed in to the same account, and Understanding is already ticked: the record is on your account.
  7. Each section counts once. Read it again and it’s still useful practice, but no new XP is added, so your total stays put.
  8. If a section you finished still isn’t ticked, reload the page. If it’s still missing, tell us which section of which lesson.
